Frequently asked questions about our Sauna
Session times
Private hire and community sessions are 65 minutes. If you’d like a longer sauna session please contact us, we’re happy to accommodate requests where possible.
Please note that all our experiences include time for changing. If you’d like to use the changing space at the end of your session, we ask that this is within your session time to ensure a smooth handover over for the next booking.
Booking multiple people or sessions
If you'd like to book multiple people onto the same session, make sure to select the quantity of seats at the top of the booking page.
Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are coming soon.
When buying a gift voucher an email will be sent automatically to the email address provided at checkout with a code to redeem for the booking. If you'd prefer to send the voucher to your recipient on a certain date, we recommend entering your own email address then forwarding on or purchasing on the special day. The voucher also has a printable version if you wish to print and hand over a physical voucher.
What will I need in the sauna?
You will need two towels. A sauna mat or small towel to sit on and a towel to dry off with
What should I wear in the sauna?
A bathing costume and shoes/flip flops must be worn when entering and exiting the sauna hut. Shoes must be removed and left in the changing area before entering the sauna itself.
All footwear must be removed before entering plunge in the pool.
Are there changing facilities available on-site?
There is a small changing area adjacent to the main sauna area where coat hooks are supplied to hang any clothing, dry robes etc.
Are towels provided?
No Escape Sauna does not supply towels.
Can I purchase any merchandise such as dry robes, sauna mats, towels or hats?

Is there a minimum age requirement for sauna use?
The minimum age to book as an individual is 18 years old. Anyone between 12-18 years old must be accompanied by an adult within the booking. Children under the age of 12 years old are not encouraged to use the sauna. In the extremely rare circumstances where they will be allowed, children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult on a ratio of 1:1.
What is the minimum number of people who can use the sauna at any one time?
The minimum number of people is 2.
What temperate is the sauna?
We like to keep the sauna to around about 65-80°c
What temperate is the cold plunge?
Ask on the day as this can be weather dependant
Can I book a private session for a group larger than the stated capacity?
We can only accommodate a maximum of 5 people in the sauna at any one time.
Is it safe to use the sauna after the cold plunge?
Yes it is safe to use the sauna after the cold plunge. It is recommended a cold plunge or a cool down at the end of the sauna experience be carried out.
What is the cancellation policy for sauna bookings?
For individual bookings within a communal session, you will receive a full refund if you cancel at least 72 hours prior to your session. If it’s between 48–72 hours, you need to email us on unwind@esacapesauna.co.uk to cancel and we’ll allow you to rearrange your session. We regret that we can’t offer any refunds, or date rearrangements with less than 48 hours’ notice.
For private hire of the whole sauna, it’s slightly different. We request 7 full calendar days notice for a full refund and 5 days’ notice for a 50% refund. We regret that we can’t give a refund or date rearrangements if it’s less than 5 days notice.
Is the sauna sessions supervised by an attendant?
Yes there will be an attendant to supervise the session, answer any questions and make sure the fire is maintained
Can I add water to the sauna stones during my session?
A small pale with spoon is provided to add water to the stones, please consult the other users before doing so
Is food, drink or alcohol permitted during sauna sessions?
No food or drink is not allowed within the sauna however you are welcome to purchase food and drink from Drift to consume outside.
